Stagnant – Stuck – Anxiety – What it Takes to Improve Your Situation

What does it really take to look past your “stuck” situation right now? It takes experience of going through it a couple of times and then saying, okay I take ownership of my situation!

Acceptance is our keyword for today’s topic. It takes acceptances to move on or keep moving from any tough situation. It’s all perspective at the end of the day. You can see your current situation as glass half full or glass half empty. As in you can make your situation bad or worst.

I get it though, when you are in the situation where the entire environment is super negative, it’s hard to think positively. Mainly when anything you do leads to none of your goals. You start putting yourself down and telling yourself that you are just not good enough!

Yes, I go through that too! When there is too much pressure of work or let’s say I just take on too much to prove I am “good enough”… perfect example of jumbling my thoughts, and taking on too much than I can chew. That’s when anxiety hits.

What to do in those situations? Accept… accept that it will all end one day, and just like the person next to you, there will be an end to you. That means, there is no reason to hold on to these negative thoughts, all you can do is keep pushing and moving forward. Your situation will change eventually if you put in the work to make those small changes.

We make a mistake of always focussing on the end goal! However, life is simple. It’s about making smaller changes in your life to get those end results.

For example, I see a software engineer or a product manager making a certain amount of money and living an easy lifestyle. I can’t wake up tomorrow morning and hope that I am a software engineer / product manager. I need to make those changes / put in sacrifices to get to that level to achieve that lifestyle. There will be many road blocks! Many, many, many road blocks — the main point is, take breaks, but don’t stop!

You don’t see results right away, at least I haven’t but, 10 years later, you will look back and think that struggle was required!

Self Worth – Not Good Enough!

Story time! This story helped one of my friends struggling with the “not good enough” mindset and I have hope it does the same for you!

My friend was applying to jobs and she has been applying for awhile but, it’s just her line of work that it’s very hard to land a position. However, some of her past coworkers are very lucky and landed the same position quite easily. My friend started becoming quiet. She stopped communicating to her family because, she felt like everyone surrounding her was content and happy, however she was killing their fun by being upset.

She started comparing herself to her past coworkers who have landed the job. She started questioning why struggle, why put in so much hard work when the end result is always back to square one… struggle, pain, and the mental burden of not feeling good enough!

She shared her story with me and I realized wait a minute, I went through the same thing and heck, I still feel that way some days.

As a motivator, the simple answer is, just change your mindset. However, it’s not such a easy shift. When you are feeling those negative emotions and you are the one struggling, it’s really hard to change your perspective. You feel like you are in a routine of unhappy, you put in work, you struggle, you lose a lot of time and it’s a pattern. You are just not happy.

I shared my story with her, and it made sense to her because, I am at a better spot now – which means we are not always going to be in that mental space, things will turn out to be better. I had been in her footsteps before, I use to commute longer than two hours to get to work, there were work politics, work people would over power me, I felt stuck and stagnant, no career growth, no raise. After spending my whole day in that environment, I would come back home communiting those same long hours, having little time for myself. Not only that, one of my family members had a very serious illness for which, our home environment was always full of sadness.

I wasn’t happy at home, and outside of home. This made me go through same questions as my friend, what is the point of all this struggle? It’s all luck anyways! We are all goign to end up dead anyways!

Today, I can self analyze the situation much better! First, it wasn’t so much me, it was just a tough situation to be in. Situations I had no control over. In addition, my life had become a routine of same type of negativity and no growth. This made me stopped being optimistic. I felt there will be no growth.

Hence, the cause of this negative feeling of not good enough,

a. Not having control over the situation,

b. The same pattern and routine in your life,

c. No one is taking the time to tell you that you are actually doing a great job.

But shortly after, I changed my outlook. I changed my mindset. I told myself, if everything is luck at the end then I am going to atleast put in the struggle to acheive my goals. Yes, I might not ever be able to achieve them but at least I can tell myself I tried.

So we have to realize, everything is luck even when you put in work. Putting in work only prepares you for the event but actually getting the opportunity is luck. There might be many obstacles thrown your way, which is also luck! When that happens, you just have to own it. Being able to own all situation is basically what life is.

At a certain point, (or ever)… there will not be a lot of people encouraging you and clapping for you. That’s when you have to take the ownership to say that you will go aheand try and keep trying.

Second Wave – Be Prepared For Unemploymeent / Lay offs?

Two day delay but here I am once again! So it’s going to be a hard hit everyone so be prepared.

The economy already went through the first wave and saw a round of lay offs. Lay offs are not plesant. Long back, I was layed off from a position. The compnay was doing “Re-Org” which, basically means they are trying to save cost. At that time, I didn’t have a job for 6 months. Good thing, I wasn’t completely alone. I had family support and a roof to stay.

Looking back, I couldn’t find a job for 6 months because, I lacked experience, I didn’t know where to look, how to properly set up my resume, didn’t know anyone or have any connections, and the last but the main point, it is hard to find a job! You have to keep looking and trying until you land a position because, more than 1,000’s others are also interested and trying their luck on the same position.

Second wave will be a hard hit everyone so be prepared! When I say be prepared, I mean to say, please have a second source of income or at least update your skills.

Friends saying, the purchases of appliances such as fridge has gone up, why? Because, pepole are preparing to stack up for the second wave. My doctor friends and family are stating that they are cutting health care worker hours, just to save cost at this time. Even depressing enough, we are in debt as a country!

This is concerning and depressing as more covid patients are coming in, yet we are cutting cost of health care workers.

So for your own good! I want you to research a skill that will be valued at this time. Save and invest your money. Invest in yourself. I want you to look up different ways of passive income. Try putting up your skills on Fiverr and Skillshare. Try developing a course on Udemy. I want you to have that extra flow of income coming in. It’s not easy but, I want you to atleast try for it. Growth is key!

Negative Comments / Feedback Bring You Down?

Hello World,

Honestly, I don’t want to sound like, “I can handle it all!”… I am human. It does bother me. Negative feedback / criticism is impacts me. I think about it, I get anxiety from it. Something I can’t control…

But, what do you do when anxiety hits from a feedback or negative comment? What questions pop into your mind?

You step away from it…

Sustainability! Yes, for me it’s sustainability! Confidence is great! I have a lot of it but, can sometimes someone elses feedback can throw you off. That’s when you start feeling are you good enough?! So how do you shake that are you, “good enough” off? Take a hot shower, completely distract yourself and do something else that you love doing. Take a walk, paint, sing, go do an activity that you love doing. Come back and reflect!

Then come back and start working on the task that you are not so good at! Yes, people will have opinions, feedbacks, their perspective! Take it in, destress, and come back to the given task.

I couldn’t change my anxiety so over time I made any feedback that got to me a little, my strength! I started working towards it. I always try to out perform. Taking on the chanllenge has led me to become more stronger without even knowing it!

So just step away for a bit! de-clutter and come back to it and complete your task while, trying to get better at it!

What Will People Think Mentality? Change it!

Hello World,

What will people think only applies if you work a corporate job and you are puting out content that creates a conflict of interest. What will people think only applies, when the content you put out or the action you are about to take will harm someone you love dearly.

Otherwise, as Drake once said, you only live once! Have a chuckle at that for my poor Canadian reference!

But come on guys! Isn’t it more fruitful to stay excited by doing challenging things? What is the point of staying within your comfort zone and thinking of what others would think or feel? I bet you anything if they had a shot at their own journies they wouldn’t think twice.

You need to change that mentality and go for your dreams! Take a stab at and try! There is literally nothing to lose.

I am trying so many different things in life at this time because, I want to experience growth on a different level. Unique from others, as in not everyone will take the risks I am taking. Which is weird, because, the perceived risks I am taking, trading stocks, Fiverr, YouTube, blogging, audiobooks are all open for everyone to try.

What is your excuse for not trying any of this above or your true passion, whatever that might be… maybe a cake business, IT services, becoming good at something… basketball?

The most common answer is fear of not being good enough, fear of being judged, and fear of failure. Trust me, we have all been there!

But one thing you have to keep in mind, this time you have now will pass. Some people ddwel in the misconception that there is still time. Your body is changing every day. You are not physically capable of doing the same thing in 10 years for now so, take your shot and complete your bucket list today!

I have received a comment one time, stating that I have it easy and I have time. No, one thing I am good at it is planning! Planning made me confident in knowing what I want. I know I want growth. I know in order to achieve that growth, I must put in work and be consistent. I also know, nothing turns up at your door the next day, you have to wait your turn! Everyone has ups and downs and highs and lows, it’s your responsibility how you want to perceive the situation and action it.

That’s why I always tell you guys to keep going forward. Don’t think of what anyone says! Who cares! They will die one day and so will you. As deperessing as that sounds, it’s the only way one realizes how much time we have on this planet and how to use it wisely.

I love you guys for the support on my blog! It has been a tremondous success in my eyes! Sharing my journey has helped me grow and I am glad you all can take away something from my growth!

What is Required in a Good Partner?

First of all you need to be a good partner to yourself. Yes, you need to be content with where you stand in life. You need to at least know your plans and goals. Don’t be a pushover and lost. If you don’t have it figured which, most of us have not… try to plan and know what you want.

Many people who are always lost and lack initiative would tell you, yes but, everyone is lost, you just don’t know what will come your way next. That is true, but at the same time, you need to know what you like and don’t and stay true to your values.

Right off the bat, good money sense! You don’t want someone who doesn’t know what they are doing with their money. You don’t want someone drowning in debt, you don’t want someone who is not saving! Also, you don’t want someone who doesn’t have a retirement fund.

Trust/Understanding. You need to find a best frined in the partner. They need to understand your drive and purpose. Again going back to my first point, you have to have drive and purpose. You have to keep on working on yourself. Growth is the key to life.

Understanding comes from open communication. Don’t be afraid to have deep conversation so you both can learn more about each other on an intellectual and emotional level. This will allow both of you to keep yourself honest.

I feel those are the core for a good partner. Obviously, there are more things to add per your own personal preference.

YouTube – I am Trying But Failing

As you know I am trying different things before my birthday in 2 months. I am trying to do as much as I can, my birthday is just an excuse. I am trying to create content, I am trying to Fiverr, I am keeping up with the blogs, investing in dividends, writing an audio book! In addition to my 9-5, because, let’s not forget I have to earn real money too.

I am trying to do all this as creating content kind of releases my stress and makes me feel good. It’s almost a feeling of giving back.

Having a YouTube channel has always been on my mind (No content yet)

I always had a preconception that damn this is most likely the easiest job, just creating videos and posting. YouTube likes vidoes ranged from 8 to 20 minutes. The more watch time the better for you as a content creator. However, boy is it hard! Creating 8 minutes video is hard. I tried recording my whole day and then edit it and I have 6 minutes now. But imagine that for daily vloggers. They have to create content every day and make there life seem entertaining.

But the thing is, if I hadn’t tried, I wouldn’t have known. I wouldn’t have known how much work it takes to find good lighting, find the right angles, have a plan of what to show, or to create content on. It’s not easy. My misconception of oh those vloggers have it easy… it’s so wrong. Those vloggers have it easy because, they started and got better at doing what WE are too afraid to do.

So I am not giving up yet, I have 2 more minutes of content to go. I will find something exciting and share once my content is uploaded.

Are You Behind? Does it Bother You?

This is my thrid attempt at this as this post won’t save for some reason. Also, I am behind! This was supposed to release yesterday!

So what happens when you are behind? You usually procrastinate, as in do other things that make you feel more empty and bad afterwards or you get major anxiety. I know I am the motivational one out of both of us but, I get major anxiety too!

What are our options then? How do we handle not being bothered by being behind? The answer is simple! We need to segment our tasks! We need to stop seeing the project or life as the big picture and work on everything on a smaller level. Try to break the task down as much as you can.

Basically, think of everything as a milestone. Let’s say, you want to finish a course, run your own business, raise a child, and also buy your own house all at once. Okay sure, but that is too much on your plate and it will definitely lead to major stress. You will no way do a good job in achieving any of those goals.

Then what do you do? Treat each of those as a milestone and set a priortiy on them. This will help you see your tasks in and evaluate and assess your time of completion. You will be closer to finishing your goals quicker.

Another reason being behind can bother us is due to comparison. Why oh why do you have to compare yourself to your best friend or a person who doesn’t even know you? Trust me, whatever you see that you want that they have might be all good but, there is an aspect of their life that they are struggling with as well.

You have to be happy with the situation you are given. You have to make the best out of your environment. Everyone will hit one or two or many road blocks in their life. But you have to keep going. Comparison will only slow you down. You have to make most of your journey.
