Poor Are Stuck in the Poverty System

Hello World,

I watched a video today and it was heart breaking. A young girl in her mid 20’s was crying because, she had to help and pay her parents mortgage at 16. She completed one of her bachelors and went into debt. Then covid hit! She couldn’t save up. Now she is completing her nursing degree but, she does not have money to pay for the last semester of her college. She is convinced that the poor is set up to be poor. She said, that she paid for her parents house and mortgage but, what about her? Where is her house? Meaning, she can’t ever afford one.

This really made me think. We really discredit people who are self made. The people who don’t have a proper shelter when young however somehow managed to earn their success and make it big. What was it that set them apart? Since, in reality there is a high chance most that come from poverty will get stuck in the poverty system. The people who do not have a healthy financial support growing up will always be the ones paying massive debt and expenses.

Here is what I feel, it’s sad, yes we are stuck in a poverty system but, the question we have to ask is, are we resiliant? Can we survive our bad times and keep going at our passions and keep learning. It is almost like the concept of dollar cost averaging, right? There may be highs, there may be lows, but you have to keep pushing and going at your goals.

Now will grow for you, if you don’t try yourself.

Think about my post and share your thoughts!

Do You Always Feel Like There is Less Hours in a Day?

Hello World,

I suffer from the, “less hours in a day syndrome” and thankful that I am not alone. Many people just like me are feeling the same way. I was reading more into this subject of why this happens. I found some easy reads which just talks about, “you don’t manage your time properly.” This could be a case for many people, but maybe not so much for me. I just literrally feel there is less hours in a day to get all my work, task, life done.

Quoting an artcile from their Mind and Body segement, I realized it’s because I multi task alot. I have ten things going on and I want to excel or atleast get some work done towards each. Mulitasking slows you down if you don’t focus on just one of your goals. Exactly, what is happening with me.

A study shows that the American work week has shrinked from 11 hours to 8 hours from 1965 to 2003. This means people back then had literally no time, they just worked day and night. Can you imagine working 11 hours? No family time or time for yourself at all.

Interestingly, the study also, shows leisure time can be both good and bad. If you are enjoying your leisure time and it’s filled with activities that you like, then yes time will fly. However, if you are stuck doing something you are not enjoying then you will perceive it as a waste of time and stuck.

Goal conflict from your real passion is another reason why you feel like you are short of time. This means the goals you set does not align with your passion. Your passion project frees up more time for you, how does that make sense? Well, a passion project is something you are passionate about and hence, time flies whey you are focussed and working completely on that.

Anyways, all I wanted to say through this blog is that I am losing time because, I am multitasking. Please feel free to share if you also feel the same as me?

Review Your Vision Board Daily

Hello World,

Not too long ago I wrote about how to start your Vision Board and how to manifest what you desire. In addition, step by steps of how to drafting a Vision board.

However, in 2021, I really want you to segment your vision board to in these seven areas:

  1. Physical Environment
  2. Career / Work
  3. Financialy Security / Money

  6. Relationships / Romance
  7. Personal Growth

January is almost done. I want you to put in some time to think about how you will improve these areas in your life and constantly work towards them every single day.

Missed Opportunities

Hello World,

I use this blogs to share my journey, express and share my knowledge so here goes a story. I wasn’t going to write about this but, recently I was offered to work for a side opportunity. It was a good opportunity and would have been completely side from my real job. I was very excided.

I was approached because, I had the skillset and I am actually really good at coding, data and financial modelling. Here is my link to Fiverr, if you ever require to set up your eccommerce marketing metrics.

Though super excited, I was offered a short period to get this done. I was super busy at work and I wouldn’t have been able to turn this around as other work took priority. I had to let the owner of the ecommerce brand know that I had conflict. Though, if I have had a free day I would have been able to turn the work around easily, that particular day just wasn’t my day.

Even if this wasn’t my fault, I was seriously disappointed and had anxiety as I always like get things done which is given to me. Though, I am someone who always bounces back up. I told myself, although I couldn’t turn the gig around, I had the materials to teach and learn myself from it. The thing that had me excited was that it was something different and I was able to advance my skill for it.

Ah well, there is always next time!

Do you ever feel anxious or had a situation similar to this where you had to turn good opportunities down for priorities in your life?

Where Are You on the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs?

Hello World,

I was reading a 2021 article regarding conusmer behavior and trends suggest with more people out of jobs with the current pandamic situations, most people will be at the bottom of of the triangle on Maslow’s Hierarchy.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, 1943, shows the pillars of human needs. Humans need to fulfil there basic needs in order to get to comfortable enough to focus on their psychological requirements. Once, that is met, they can move on to self actualization. This is when a person feels fulfil and often start helping others with their needs.

However, all that cannot take place unless you are in control of your life. In order to be in control of your life, you would actually need to meet your basic needs. How does it all relate to business and consumer behavior? With more people out of jobs and low government help, businesses will have a hard time selling. Consumer behavior will slow down. Hence, slow sales meaing businesses would have to shut down.

Now, anser this for me, looking at Maslow’s model above, are you meeting your basic needs? Are you secure – job security/extra money saved up for rainy days? Are you spending less in 2021?

If you are struggling then maybe one of my past blogs on expense tracking and savings will guide you to a better financial status this year: Deberah Ho – Expense Tracker For Free

I want you think about all of this and find where you stand on this model. Please, share your thoughts! I would love to hear you out.

Make sure you follow to put a smile on my face! 🙂

No not the daily necessities like sleeping, eating or brushing your teeth, etc. What is one thing you do every day that you make sure gets done no matter what?

Do you mediate? Do you yoga? My last blog, I highlight my meditation routine.

Do you make sure you read something daily?

Do you pray every day?

Do you make sure to stay hydrated?

Do you put a facemask on daily?

Do you take your vitamins every day?

Do you work out every day or walk every day? Do you get any movement in?

Do you make sure to tell your loved ones you love them?

Do you make your bed every day or keep the house clean?

What is one thing that you are doing every day that is on a consistant basis that is now a habit?

After you answered that. Did you purposely make that you do it every day so it became a habit or are you trying to improve to make it your habit.

I love these growth questions, I am constantly trying to learn new skills, coding, marketing, etc. every day to instill growth. I am trying to make growth a habit.

I would love to hear from you guys! Love to see what everyone is doing every day, or how they are growing and how that is helping your personal and mental health.

Norbert’s Gambit – Tranding Strategy

Hello World,

This is specifically for my Canadians! Have you ever heard of Norbert’s Gambit?

Then you are missing out! I am about to spill some tea on how to save money on foreign exchange fees legally. Norbert’s Gambit is used when you are trading and you want to buy a US stock but you have Canadian dollars. To avoid exchange fees of let’s say 20%, you can just pay $5 to $7 CAD.

Imange you have $10,000 CAD and you want to exchange it to USD, instead of paying a wapping $200 in exchange fees just apply Norbert’s Gambit and you will pay about $10 dollars. I do it all the time.

First, you will in need a brokerage, I would suggest Questrade. Then you would need an account your trading in RRSP or TSFA. I would say, go for your RRSP.

Here are your easy steps:

  1. Then you go to Trading and look up DLR.TO. This is a ETF that tracks CAD currency.
  2. You have to decide how much money you are trading. For example, $2,000 CAD.
  3. Then you have to look at how much DLR.TO is trading at. Currently it is trading at $12.89.
  4. Then you $2,000 divide $12.89 and get the number of share you can purchase. In this case it’s 155.
  5. Make the trade to Market and buy the 155 shares
  6. Call or simply open the chat and ask the representative to Journal your shares in DLR.U.TO
  7. DLR.U.TO is the same etf in USD
  8. After 5 days, you will be able to sell your USD DLR.U.TO and you will have US Dollars to buy your US stocks

YOU SAVED MONEY!

Does Investing in The Stock Market Scare You?

Hello World,

This is actually a common thinking. I bet several of you reading right now don’t have a low cost brokerage where you actively invest in stocks. Mainly because,

  1. You don’t understand the stock market
  2. You think you will lose all of your money
  3. You would rather save all of your money because, you are just comfortable doing that
  4. You feel it’s too much effort to constantly monitor your money in the form of stock

Honestly, those were my same concerns. This way of thinking was partially my fault because, I had no guidance and chose not to research and seek out guidance. I was going off of peoples opinions and those who were also fearful of the stock market. I didn’t get a second opinion, because I thought I will lose a lot of money. My assumption was the best way to build wealth is just to save.

I would still say my assumption was not completely incorrect, best way to have more money is to save – I got this right! However, growth doesn’t come with just saving! Best way to build your wealth is to invest.

In the beginning of my 20’s, if I learned and invested aggressively, I would have been retiring with millions at 65. Okay scratch that thought because, what you should be doing in your 20’s is investing in yourself by exploring and gaining that skill set that will be your asset to bring in more income. However, what people fail to do is think about investment at all!

Today, 19 year olds are investing like no tomorrow. So I think, you should start now as well. At least for your retirment, you should be saving and investing. Investing does not have to be hard. Open a Questrade account and within that open a Retirement account. Put in money every month or a lump sum prior to your tax year and create a ETF portfolio.

You just have to buy ETF’s that track the S&P500 or Vanguard like QQQ or QQQJ or Vanguard. These are good ones, and I hold them. But you should also do your own research.

The real question you should ask me right now is why? Saving your income should be the same with less risk. The answer is, when you buy ETF’s every month, quarterly, or yearly, when ever you can, your money is growing in compound. If you leave your money just stagnant in your bank then it loses value due to inflation!

TD1 Tax Forms for Canadians

Hello World,

Did you know you can get your tax adjusted if you have a second source of income? If you have two source of income then your income bucket is high and you essentially paying tax paying tax on both of your incomes. No! Stop! change that!

The things that we are afraid to do most is research. That’s why we reach out to our tax professionals (which isn’t bad) or we don’t do anything. The point I am making is, we don’t research.

All you need to do is fill out a TD1 form both Federal and Provincial and send it to your payroll team. They will help you adjust your taxes so you are not taxed doubled.

Here is your step by step guide to how to fill out the form:

I learn something new every day and I hope you do with me!

Rejection – Make it a Habit

Hello World,

Did you read my title? Yes, make rejection your habit. I know some of you are thinking, what in the world? However, it’s true. There is no life without conflict, pain or rejection.

I made a lot of mistakes in life. A lot of financial and time loses. I have been rejected multiple times from many opportunities. However, I didn’t stop trying. I don’t know how many job interviews and rejection I have faced. So many that it doesn’t even bother me anymore. But when you keep trying and trying, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Even when you are facing rejection after rejection, think of it like a blessing! Yes, you are learning, you are getting practice and you are also building resiliancy. The best part is, you are getting better by learning and going through each scenario.

I was told by someone once that I would never make it. I cried, I mean alot! But, I worked on my skills. I worked on my coding skills, I worked on my business skills, and I worked on my management skills. All of which led me to a better position from all the ones I have been rejected from.

So trust me! You never know what life has planned for you. Just do your research and go for it. Shoot your shots! Keep trying and keep learning!

Love always,
