Took A Little Break Because of Anxiety

Hello World,

My anxiety began when my father passed away. I use to always have anxiety but, not as badly. Anxiety took over the day I knew he will no longer be with us. It started to get worst day after day. I realized I can’t work like this. If I let it take over, I can’t work or focus. That’s when I started listening to podcast and really focused on work.

I opened many doors by only focussing on work. However, still I get some serious anxiety hitting me time to time. That’s when I have to just step away and do things that relaxes my mind. I just relaxed my mind by sleeping early, doing things completely unrelated to work and putting on some good music.

A lot little things triggers my anxiety. Fear of sustainability is one. Fear of not being able to keep up with work is another. Third and a big one is memories of my father, which I can’t control. All of these feelings together does not feel good both physically and mentally. That is when I need to completely disconnect and give myself some time before I can step back into it.

So I hope all of you were staying safe and taking the time to disconnect time to time.

Family Obstacles Can Create Anxiety

Hello World,

Has this ever happened to you? Are you career driven but, you live with your family or you have your own family, or you have certain obstacles that just get in the way.

Story time! One of my friends live with her family. It’s a family of five, mom, dad, brother, and sister-in-law and my friend. Recenly, my friend, let’s call her Mary… Mary’s brother got married and now Mary has more family members she has to share her interest with. Her mom and dad was hard enough to deal with but, now she has her brothers family. The entire family is a bit conservative and always checks up on Mary when she is out with her frineds or shopping, etc. Think about it, Mary is past 30 and the family still checks up on her to see what she is doing.

Sounds sweet, because, family should always check up on each other but, when the check in’s become interenece that creates a problem.

Mary’s family interference has always stopped her from progessing in life. You will see many people who are successful, move out very early in there life. I am not saying that should be a goal but, if your family is always in your case then maybe it’s a good thing to draw the line between your passion and your family. In Mary’s case, she is not able to move out. She did not get to excel very far in her career because, her family always stopped her from partaking or pursuing her dreams.

From a conservative families perspective, they are just looking over and protecting their daughter. However, parents should realize that needs to stop at a certain age and kids should learn to take control of their own lives and make their own mistakes.

Mary has developed anxiety from this occurance. The pressure of matching up to everyones expectation at home while, supressing her own desires and goals has led her to develop serious depression. Now she has a part time continuing with work for long periods of time. Mary has to take gaps, take mental health days, and ask to become part time in many instance.

This becomes a stoppage in her life where she can’t earn alot of money because, of her mental health challenges.

Now Mary is a relationship where she finds a bit of peace. She feels like she can get away from her problems and the pressure at home. She doesn’t have to meet so much expectations in this relations. Despite what she feels the relationship is clearly not good for her. The boyfriend is also not ambitious, does not have a stable job, and says she doesn’t see them as a long term couple. She’s just with him because, she’s feels more at peace with him and feels that she will be able to change her mind in the future.

Mary’s thinking is blurred now as she has several problems. One, her family has expectations that she feels she needs to meet. Two, she does not know how to make more money with her career or progess towards success. Making more money will atleast help her become independent. Third, she’s in a really toxic relationship.

Any guidance offered by her friends are just becoming overwhelming for her. She is having a hard time processing over load of information. Her friends are telling her to leave her boyfriend as he is just straying her along. Mary is unable to leave the relationship as that’s the only time she gets to disengage from her family. Mary’s family is pressuring her to get married soon, or keep tabs on when she goes out. The family is also upset and scared of her taking the wrong steps which will hurt her even more. Not being able to make more money is getting in the way of her moving out and finding more balance.

When people have problems from all aspects of life, they need to take a step back and realize that they need to take it one step at a time. If there are several big problems and they are all connected then prioritize your issues and break them down.

In order to make money, Mary has to save money. She has to make some sacrifices to cut down on her expesnes. In order for her parents to understand her point of view, she needs them on her team. Instead of pushing them away, create that bond and spend time with them. That way they will at least be open to hearing her out. When Mary understands that there are clear differences between her boyfriend and her, she should count her losses and just let him go. This all sounds easy from an outside perspective but it’s hard for the victim to comprehend and process.

If you are ever in a situation where you have several problems at once. Do one thing, work on your mindset. Keep your calm and know that everything will turn around. Tackle your problems one by one.

Being Afraid of Taking on Risks

Hello World,

I am about to share a story of of my friend. Hopefully this story will help your dilemmas between any risks you are afraid of taking. I want you to be successful and inspire you. I want you to quit making excuses and just go for it.

One of my friend is a teacher. She loves to teach. However, the pandemic had given her some free time to take on something else on her plate. She was actually miserable during this lockdown. She thougth she had nothing going for herself. She often felt stuck.

She lives with a huge family. Living with a big family can give you anxiety at times as there are too many leaders in the same house. Too many people want things done their own way. Too many people have their own opinion. She felt stuck at home too.

She was getting overwhelmed at home as interactions increased at home during the pandamic. One day she thought, she has all this free time, why not put at to use on taking up something creative?! She always wanted to do something creative, but was always afraid of the failure and feedback.

She asked some of her family members to model for her as she shoots some pictures of them. She purchased a cheap camera. She asked her brother and his wife to wear there best caual clothes and did few photoshoots with them. Some at home and some at the park. My friend started to youtube photography techniques and trust me, you might think it’s easy to be a photographer but she was learning like she was in school for photography. She had tons and tons of notes from her youtube research.

After that, she started to post constantly on Instagram. Soon after people started to notice her pictures and started to contact her with photoshoot requests. With each and different styles of photoshoot her skillset improved. She made over $1000 this quarantine just by following her passion.

She absolutely loves it! This has become her passive income stream. She has a lot of people asking for her shoot. She just created a stream of gaining income over the quarantine.

I want you to follow her path and take that risk! Just try it for fun! Turst me the least that can happen is, you will fail. That’s it!

What I Currently Invest In

Hello World,

I don’t know why people are often scared of sharing what they are investing in. Yes, don’t give out the actual manufacturer information for the products you are selling for your business. This makes sense because, other people can copy and the demand for your product will slowly become less. However, you are allowed to share things like stocks and real estates or other ideas that everyone can participate.

I believe in a community system. I like to share and learn. That’s the best way of learning for me. No secrets! You have a question then just ask, you will have an answer if I have the answer. You share your learnings and I share mine and we both grow together.

I currently invest in real estate. I look up properties using Redfin or contact various real estate agent to get listings to find properties I can afford.

In addition, I invest in stocks and ETFs. There is a lot of stocks I invest in but, I made the most money on my Tesla stocks as I bought them early while they were low. I also buy a lot of ETF’s as they pay dividends. The strategy here is to keep investing in dividends and over the cours the dividends will become an income. It’s hard to see the impact if you buy on one or two shares of ETF’s. I would suggest taking an ETF like IShare XDIV and investing a $500, or $1000, each month or year, depending on how much you can put aside. The compunt effect will help you earn a lot more dividends as the time goes by.

Thank you for your incredible support!!!

Up Your Salary – Story Time

Hello World,

We all have financial goals. In order to get to those the first and foremost trick is to getting paid more so you can save and invest and still take care of your investments. Your goal should be to increasing your salary every year. Instead of telling you to upgrade your skills and research on skills that will land you another high paying job or make you more sought after, I will just share a story. I hope this story encourage and motivates you.

I know someone who splurges like no tomorrow. She is eating out at fancy dinners every single day and partying with friends. Just by looking at her social media you would think she is making a waste of her life by spending so much on night outs and expensive products. However, she started off being an accountant analyst at Deloitte, soon she become a senior Deloitte analyst.

She had several accounting jobs in between where she upgraded her skills and picked up on various financial standards that companies to comply with. As you know many companies today quickly need to adapt to the 2020 IFRS standard to avoid legal issues. She adopted these skills set which are desired for most of the multi national companies right now. Soon she became a accounting manager at a large telecommunications company in Canada, which paid her about 90K to 100K.

Within a year of working at that company she networked and went back to Deloitte as a manager and earned 100K to 115K. She stayed with Deloitte for 8 months and then Rakuten picked her up and now she makes 124K per year. She did all this within a span of less than 2 years.

Many of our job situations are dependent on many factors, however, I want this story to motivate you and think about your financial goals. Where do you want to be in the near future with your salary? Are you taking those actions to make the change happen?

Everything From a Distance is Scary

Hello World,

Isn’t it true, every big stept or “risk” in life is scary. It can be starting your own business, taking up a new degree, investing in stocks, investing in real estate, investing in a new relationship. All of these investements are scary. These are scary because, all of it involves uncertainty. We are all scared of that word, uncertainty. All of these situations above require your time, money, and effort.

Most of the time people just end up not spending the money. The hoard it. This is not bad, it’s just safe. You are just saving which is not helping you in anyway. You are not adding growth to your money when you are simply holding on to what you already have.

Time is another thing people are afraid to invest. They want to spend time doing things they like, or in comfort…nothing wrong with that however, you need to make some time to spend towards your growth as well.

However, some people really don’t have enough time to invest in multiple goals. It could be a working mother who has to come home after work to take care of children or anyone with anxiety who need a lot of gaps before they can focus on their responsibilities. No matter what you are situation is, you need a plan for growth. A single mother may find it hard to curve out that time after maintaining a household and paying all her bills but, it’s just the idea of ownership. Even if it’s staying up late one day to do some research about career change or the stock market… that time needs to be curved out and that change needs to happen.

Making a change is never easy, even harder is starting that change! How many of you wanted to start a business or wanted to start investing in the stock market and never did it? Trust me, you are probably not speaking up now but, that’s the majority of you.

One of the reasons, motivation speakers are all open with free information and courses is because, they know half of you wouldn’t get up and try to start a business or take that risk. However, you will invest in listening to their success stories.

Everyone is afraid of failure. However, we have to all normalize failure. You try something once and it becomes easier the next time as you are more aware of your mistakes. The first try prepares you for what you should be expecting.

So if you have been waiting to start a small project for your own personal growth then please, please, please share with me your goals and get started today!!

What Has This Lockdown Taught You?

Hello World,

Sorry I am late, work has been crazy! But I am just checking up on you all!

Unpredictability! My worst fear, something that gives me deep anxiety. Yes, unpredictabilty is what I have learned from this lockdown. I have also learned to accept it.

Just like most people, it has been testing for me. I was given new challenges at work that I had to quickly adapt to in these testing times of lay offs. One of my family members passed away. Over all I was just alone pick up all my emotions and work.

Being prepared for these unprecedented times is actually what would help you gain a bit of confidence. However, some obstacles you just have to deal with and own. Feel the emotions and get back to working. Feel your emotions completely and talk about it. For examples, if you lost your job, or someone at home is sick or you are struggling with something… try to find people who went through similar expeirences and just talk about it. It will help you.

What really helped me through 2020 is listening to podcasts. I wasn’t willing to open up completely with all that was going on. The podcasts were interesting, I resonated with the stories without having to tell someone my story. I learned how other people deal with anxiety and challening situatoins. The stories were not all about coping. These were various podcast starting from finanace to simply being happy. The subject varied widely. All I can say is it help me a lot.

There will be really shitty and hard times in life! Really rock bottom times but, you have to own all situations. When I say all situations, I mean the worst of the worst. You can’t be too comfortable with your current situation. I hope of the best for everyone, but you have to be uncomfortable enough to know that you may lose it all tomorrow. You should be able to turn around and say I am okay or not okay with that!

If you are not okay with a certain situation then plan early for it if you can. If you can’t then give yourself some time to cope.

Thank you for all your support! I hope you are all strong during these unsettling times!

Glam Vs. Building Wealth

Hello World,

Now that I am home and working from home, I have noticed I have the urge to buy more. Has that happen to you?

An article by Mark Beach, Forbes, “COVID-19 Pushes Up Internet Use 70% And Streaming More Than 12%, First Figures Reveal”, tells us exactly that. It refers to the change in our buying behavior during the pandamic. Some say, it’s because we are saving more due to not commuting, eating out, not meeting people, or CREB/Stimulus check. When we see extra money in our bank, we just want to spend it. Some say, it’s because we just have nothing to do, we have nothing else to occupy our time with so we are induldging by spending on materials.

What is it for you? I think for me it’s because, I spend time scrolling through social media to see what is trending in fashion and then all these ads pop up. I bought so many TikTok gadgets that supposedly “makes life easier” but, did I really need it?

However, I am over all very good with my money. I am looking to build wealth by education and investments. I want put away atleast 60% of my money investments after expenses. In order to do that, I have to constantly remind myself of my goals. Do I want to buy these new clothes that will not be of any use to me this year? Or should I just take the money and buy more Apple stocks/IShare ETFS. This self discipline has to be instilled in all of us.

Being said that, it is a tough time so go ahead and treat yourself but don’t let it become an obsession.

Sustainability – Is Your Job Secure?

Hello World,

Although I had a bunch of masks available to me at home, I ordered another 50 pair. Yes, I started stocking up again just like how I did in the beginning of the pandamic. The numbers are peaking again. Although, the government is being conservative with the shut down, we are not far away from it.

Although this pandamic was the absolute terrible, I had my perks of not having to commute to work, I saved money on commute, I saved money on eating out. I had time to focus on myself and take care of my mental health over all.

But I want you all to think about the ones who has lost their jobs during the pandamic. It wasn’t as pretty for them as they all had to focus on getting another job or changing their career path and skill set. Think about it for it, if you still have a job then you are lucky but, let’s say the second wave it and you were the next to get laid off or fired?!

How much security do you have in your job? Almost zero, and that stands true even if there was no pandamic. Pandamic just makes everything worse, we can all agree on that!

Therefore, we need to upgrade our skills, always be aware of the current trends, and prepare for the future.

I always tell my audience to always, always, always, try to gain another source of income. Yes, not one but, two. One can pay your bills and the other you can re-invest to build wealth. There are some of you who are going to be like, no money can’t buy happiness. Money can’t, and I agree but it does buy you a bit of freedom and comfort to easily have time for what makes you the happiest.

Think about what I wrote, and share your ideas to help others grow!
