Do You Always Feel Like There is Less Hours in a Day?

Hello World,

I suffer from the, “less hours in a day syndrome” and thankful that I am not alone. Many people just like me are feeling the same way. I was reading more into this subject of why this happens. I found some easy reads which just talks about, “you don’t manage your time properly.” This could be a case for many people, but maybe not so much for me. I just literrally feel there is less hours in a day to get all my work, task, life done.

Quoting an artcile from their Mind and Body segement, I realized it’s because I multi task alot. I have ten things going on and I want to excel or atleast get some work done towards each. Mulitasking slows you down if you don’t focus on just one of your goals. Exactly, what is happening with me.

A study shows that the American work week has shrinked from 11 hours to 8 hours from 1965 to 2003. This means people back then had literally no time, they just worked day and night. Can you imagine working 11 hours? No family time or time for yourself at all.

Interestingly, the study also, shows leisure time can be both good and bad. If you are enjoying your leisure time and it’s filled with activities that you like, then yes time will fly. However, if you are stuck doing something you are not enjoying then you will perceive it as a waste of time and stuck.

Goal conflict from your real passion is another reason why you feel like you are short of time. This means the goals you set does not align with your passion. Your passion project frees up more time for you, how does that make sense? Well, a passion project is something you are passionate about and hence, time flies whey you are focussed and working completely on that.

Anyways, all I wanted to say through this blog is that I am losing time because, I am multitasking. Please feel free to share if you also feel the same as me?

Diversity, Equality, And Inclusion in 2021

Hello World,

What do you all think of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in the workplace? Last year, we saw many cases where people came to show support for a minority group–be it Black lives matter, gender and pay gap equality. This year work places are taking a stand at really putting in DEI strategy in place.

I think this is a great way of addressing workplace exclusion and improving remote work. I am happy to see this happen heavily where I work. Are you all seeing the same pattern as well? DEI althought, may be implemented in many places, it was never a priority. However, last year we saw some real need for change in social action.

I love this idea as I consider myself of someone who is part of the minority group and have to always have to make a case for myself. This is often the reason why women, people of color and other minority groups make less money. The work is not diverse or they don’t give someone who can’t stand out a chance.

I love the focus on DEI these days!

What is your take on this?

Yahoo Finance Says Millennials Invested Less Than $500 in Their Lifetime

Hello World,

I was reading an article today where the statistics are crazy. Millennials have invested less than $500 in their lifetime. The 25 -34 year olds have invested about $5,000 dollars, and 14% people invested about $50,000. What are your thoughts on this? Isn’t this alarming?

There was a survey pertaining to why Millennials are not investin and a wapping 45% said, they just don’t have enought money to invest. About 12% just don’t want to invest and 12% said, they are afraid to lose money. The reasons why millennials are behind on investing is because of their heavy student loan. In addition, the study shows that millennials get paid less than what baby boomers use to get paid at their age, hence, there is a wealth gap. Also, they viewed saving up for a down payment is more important than investing (won’t lie, I had the same mindset when I was younger).

Note to you – The moral of the story is the longer you wait on investing, the weaker your savings are getting in the bank. Cash looses value over time.

Millennial mindset is less debt and bigger salary. However, during the pandamic, millennials have slowly started getting into investing. A blog by Central1, states that there has been a spike in online brokerage accounts for investing by millennials during the pandamic. Deloitte 2020 survey assessing GenZ and Millennials spending behaviors showed the pandamic had an impact on how these two generations are watching their spending habits.

Let me know if you are a spender or a saver or a investor? What is your future financial strategy?

How Much Do You Need to Earn to Own a Million Dollars Property in Canada?

Hello World,

Real estate market did not drop or dip during the pandamic in Canada, surprisingly. Yes, the condo market prices dropped a bit and since everyone started moving from downtown to more away from the city, rental prices staggered too. However, the house prices keep rising and rising. Now a normal average 4,000 sq ft house cost 1.5 million dollars. What are your thoughts on that?

It is ridiculous for anyone to afford a hosue, a basic looking one if I may add, even far away from the city. In case you didn’t know, you need to bring home $175, 230 income per year to afford a million dollar house in Canada. Even in Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa which is just approximately away from Toronto, the detached houses are no longer less than a million dollars. Also, you would find very very less houses in the market right now, making a sellers market. Quite different from the condo market at this stage, which is currently a buyers market.

If you have money to invest then and you want to get into real estate investing then, I would defintely suggest looking into downtown condos right now. Ontario is looking at getting everyone vaccinated by September of 2021. This would mean, many people will go back to work, making the downtown condo prices to go up again. Take advantage of the low mortgage rate and lockdown a investment property right now. In addition, Canada has a 3 year plan of getting 400,000 immigrants.

This will mean people would need to rent. This is why you should be looking into real estate right now.

Let me know your thoughts!

What Are You Investing in These Days?

Hello World,

What are you investing in these days?

Here is a cool table I found on Bank of Montreal news room. This states the percentage of Canadians have these investments. Surprised to hear that more boomers and Gen Z’s invest then millennials.

For those who don’t know, TFSA is a Tax Free savings account (only Canadian’s) and RRSP is a Retirement Savings Plan.

What is your take on this? Where are you at on your investment plans. Are you saving your money in cash or puting it in a salvings accounting or buying stocks?

I am trying to diversify my portfolio with more ETF’s. I have maxed out my RRSP and will be focusing more on crypto.

Let me know what your investment strategy looks like for 2021.

People Who Are Not Open to Listen

Hello World,

Have you ever met anyone who is not open to listen? Do you have someone in your life who refuses to have a proper conversation as soon as you start giving them feedback? They take your feedback even said in a polite tone, like you are blaming them.

I have few people in my life who do that. They refuse to listen about their flaws and just walk away from the conversation. They don’t want to improve with any suggestions that others have given them. They feel they know it all.

Don’t be this person! You should be able to take feedback from people and not fall weak or get emotional. You can’t walk away from a situation that is creating a challenges for the relationship and creating a negative environment. If someone identifies a challenge then please have a conversation in a calm manner.

Be open to critism and feedback. When a feedback or a criticism is shared with you, it’s only to improve the situation. If you don’t agree with it then have a conversation rather than walking away or sharing a statement. Open conversation and transparency is what we strive for within family or relationships and even at the work place.

Please be open and humble.

I’ll keep this one short! Happy Sunday.

You Can Buy Bitcoin on WealthSimple

Hello World,

How is it going? Just a simple question to get some feedback and your personal thoughts on what is your stance is on crypto currency? Is it something you are not too focused on, don’t know too much about, or are investing in?

Many people find it challenging to understand. It’s volatile. They don’t want to take that risk specially if they have very little money to invest. Okay, I understand that. However, a lot of you don’t understand the set up and just quit at that. For example, you need a brokerage and custodial or a non-custodial wallet…. most people think, huh? Why do we need a wallet? This is because, you want to keep your crypto and prevent hack.

Custodial wallets are easy to download on your desktops and app and it’s basically a software that handles your coins. Even better, with a one time fee get a hardware wallet where you can carry your coins around.

However, I solely believe in long term investments. I think you should take the risk and put some of your money in a well researched coin that you think will fight against inflation since, crypto is being considered the digital gold. Many big players and comping in towards these crypto coins now. That’s why I suggest, if you don’t want to transact with bitcoin/etherium and just hold it and sell it, there is an easier way now.

WealthSimple is allowing you to trade bitcoin on their crypto platform. It’s easy like you would do in any brokerage platform. Buy and just hold! Yes, it’s volatile but, with every drop it gained double. Take that risk. WealthSimple works with Gemini third party to trade the coins but, it is a well known safe platform where you can trade these coins easily.

Only thing you can’t do is trasact with your coins, you would have to cash out, as in sell your coins to buy goods that you want.

This tip is for my long term investors! I want to see you successful. Get on it!

Do you mediate? Do you yoga? My last blog, I highlight my meditation routine.

Do you make sure you read something daily?

Do you pray every day?

Do you make sure to stay hydrated?

Do you put a facemask on daily?

Do you take your vitamins every day?

Do you work out every day or walk every day? Do you get any movement in?

Do you make sure to tell your loved ones you love them?

Do you make your bed every day or keep the house clean?

What is one thing that you are doing every day that is on a consistant basis that is now a habit?

After you answered that. Did you purposely make that you do it every day so it became a habit or are you trying to improve to make it your habit.

I love these growth questions, I am constantly trying to learn new skills, coding, marketing, etc. every day to instill growth. I am trying to make growth a habit.

Rejection – Make it a Habit

Hello World,

Did you read my title? Yes, make rejection your habit. I know some of you are thinking, what in the world? However, it’s true. There is no life without conflict, pain or rejection.

I made a lot of mistakes in life. A lot of financial and time loses. I have been rejected multiple times from many opportunities. However, I didn’t stop trying. I don’t know how many job interviews and rejection I have faced. So many that it doesn’t even bother me anymore. But when you keep trying and trying, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Even when you are facing rejection after rejection, think of it like a blessing! Yes, you are learning, you are getting practice and you are also building resiliancy. The best part is, you are getting better by learning and going through each scenario.

I was told by someone once that I would never make it. I cried, I mean alot! But, I worked on my skills. I worked on my coding skills, I worked on my business skills, and I worked on my management skills. All of which led me to a better position from all the ones I have been rejected from.

So trust me! You never know what life has planned for you. Just do your research and go for it. Shoot your shots! Keep trying and keep learning!

Love always,
